This role is becoming critical as enterprises move beyond experimenting with generative AI and demand rapid implementation of custom AI-driven solutions. An FEE works alongside clients to understand their unique challenges and build applications that deliver tangible business value quickly.

Targeting a "Quality over Quantity" Approach- HCLTech's Chief Human Resources Officer, Ramachandran Sundararajan, has been vocal about the company’s shift in focus. "The focus is on freshers being hired more around specialization, not necessarily about the numbers," he stated. This means the company is prioritizing the caliber of its recruits over the volume of hires. For the fiscal year 2027, the company expects about 15 to 20 percent of its fresher intake to fall under this elite cadre. While this might seem like a small fraction, it represents a significant strategic investment. The remaining hires will follow a more traditional path, but the elite group is being earmarked for the company's most critical, high-growth areas.

A Premium Price for Premium Skills- To attract the top talent needed for these specialized roles, HCLTech is offering compensation packages that are dramatically higher than the industry standard for freshers. Salaries for this "elite cadre" can range from ₹18 lakh to ₹22 lakh per annum. This represents a premium of three to four times what a regular fresher would receive in the services business.
